Well this is my first ever blog and it comes almost 2 weeks after my wife gave birth to our first child. It is true that this momentuous occassion in our lives has instigated my investigation into blogging - so here I am.
Anyway, George Robert Dunbar was born 3 weeks early, weighing in at 6lb and 10oz. Claire (my wife) was in labour for around 6 hours and everything went smooth. As Claire was really well after giving birth, we had almost 50 visitors over the first week - coming to meet George! (I should've charged an entrance fee!) I was able to take a week off but have been back to work this week (need the money!)
Now almost 2 weeks on and I can happily report that the novely hasn't worn off. Even though he feeds and needs his nappy changing regularly, we are both "chuffed to bits" with our new arrival.
It was a pleasure to be one of the many visitors (hopefully the leffe was a good enough entrance fee!), and a major pleasure to be asked to be a God father!!!! I can also say that novelty of that hasn't worn off too!
